If the human race was originally created from one man and one woman, why are there so many different races today?

The Bible explains that after the flood—from which only eight people survived on the earth—the world was resettled and repopulated. One to two hundred years after the flood, God intervened at the tower of Babel when the earth's growing population wanted to unify in rebellion against Him. God confused their languages in order to disrupt their efforts. Today, ethnic diversity is closely associated with a people's native language. Individual languages were the major factor that differentiated the clans and tribes as they branched out and dispersed in the earth.
